The Pointe-Noire industrial zone is a space dedicated to large-scale industrial projects of the City of Sept-Îles. It derives its distinctive advantages from its exceptional geographical location as a gateway to the Gulf of St. Lawrence, from its proximity to natural resources from the Labrador Trough, as well as from its quality facilities.
As a major industrial Hub in Eastern Canada, the area is occupied among others by the Port of Sept-Iles, the Pointe-Noire Railway and Port Company (SFPPN), Aluminerie Alouette and public lands managed by the Quebec Governement.
